The school office staff will screen ill stuents and will send them home if they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Treatment is: rest, fluids, and fever-reducing medicines such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Please consider the following before sending your student to school: Use proper and frequent hand washing after sneezing, coughing, or using a Klenex. Keep your children home for 24 hours after all symptoms, including fever, have subsided. Your child needs to be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine. The contagion cycle will only be broken when students are kept home from school for the duraction of the illness. The Contra Costa Health Services has created an FAQ about the H1N1 virus.
